International Arbitration

"Our International Arbitration practice group assists clients with complex international disputes in a wide variety of industries and subject matters in venues throughout the world"

From obtaining investment treaty coverage, to designing dispute resolution mechanisms, to pre-arbitral negotiations, to contested hearings, to the enforcement of arbitral awards, we work as a team with our clients to achieve optimal results at each stage, and, when in the interests of our client, to obtain a favorable settlement. As a leading law firm in the field, we are well acquainted with the most respected arbitrators throughout the world and regularly appear against other leading international arbitration law firms.

Our International Arbitration group has extensive experience in all aspects of arbitral practice. We represent clients in disputes throughout North America, Europe, South America, Africa and Asia and have experience in litigating cases under various governing bodies of law, including common and civil law traditions. We have widespread experience in a variety of industries including energy, construction, oil and gas, concessions (and the project finance and construction agreements related to these projects), joint ventures, intellectual property, telecommunications, chemicals, mining, pharmaceuticals, financial services, medical devices, insurance and reinsurance, and many others.

We appear regularly before the leading arbitral institutions throughout the world: the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) and the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC). We also handle ad hoc proceedings, often governed by the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) Rules.
